Just to bring you up to date........

We're writing to you tonight from exactly where we are, present tense, here in Borrego Springs, CA.
With promises to catch up on all of Texas,  New Mexico, and Arizona in other posts, we greet you from the Colorado Desert and the Anza-Borrego State Park.
Wednesday morning, Nov 16, we drove across Arizona.  Seeing saguaro cactus............

the endless miles of Sonoran desert......

across the Colorado River...............

And, yay, back in sunny California!

Corny, but we loved seeing the phones change before our eyes to Pacific Time!

The Imperial Sand Dunes are quite impressive.

And across what is known as 'the Texas dip'...............

And into Christmas Circle (no, I don't know why it's called that) in the little town of Borrego Springs.
What is so cool about this town is that it is entirely surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, as you can see on this map.  The white area is park, and in the upper third  the tan area  is the town.  Surrounded by more than 600,000 acres of park!  A park full of fossils, history, rock art, hiking trails, animal and plant life, including the Peninsular Bighorn Sheep.

Our little trailer sits in the front driveway of our friend Susan's home.

and looks out on the San Ysidro Mts.

Anna and her soul mate Kyber, dog friend from San Jose, romped on the golf course......

............as the sun set on the Santa Rosa Mts.

These dogs are perfectly matched  (twins separated at birth?  No, Kyber's from California, and Anna, of course, from New Orleans.)

Susan took me and Anna on a walk through the desert this morning.

These are wonderful dogs.
Thank you, Susan, for a wonderful first day in Borrego Springs.

Written IN Borrego Springs!                 RJ
