Deep in the Heart of Texas

About 180 miles due east of San Antonio is the Seminole Canyon State Park, the next stop on our trip west. ..................... Miles ..............

..........and miles...........

..............and miles............

Border patrol check points.  Even with our trailer, we were waved through each time.  I guess the 'blue do' look precludes us from being suspected of transporting 'undocumented persons' into the U.S.
It was curious though .  One border patrol officer even joked! with Leslie:  How many undocumented people do you have back there?  Not more than 4 or 5, she answered.  That's good, he said, our limit is eight.  We'd have to do something if you had eight.  Really, that was their conversation.

and miles..............

The Texas State Park system is patrolled regularly.  With armed rangers.

Rain the previous week brought the ocotillo into full bloom.

And we watched another stunning Texas sunset.

And when we turned way from the sunset, here was the magical moon rise!
I did not retouch these photos!

I zoomed in for this one.

Leslie cooked up some pork chops, and butternut squash soup........

After a bathroom break at three a.m., I photographed this by full moon light.

And despite all this beauty, the Divine Miss Anna Banana still loves her 'peeps' the best.

Next chapter, the pictographs of Seminole Canyon.           RJ
