Peaches and cotton and campground, oh my.......

Apparently Gaffney has proclaimed itself the Peach Capital of the World.  It's quite a sight to see this giant peach looming over the highway.
Peaches, sadly, are not in season in south Carolina now.
We must take the town's word for it.

The cotton fields

and cotton bales
across South Carolina

And ....then..........Toby!

Anna Falls in love with Toby.
Head over heels, romp around the campground, don't leave my side sort of head over heels. Anna started making this funny sound in the trailer before we got up. A kind of wuf wuf deep in her chest. Then when the door opened she jumped out and looked around and ran off.
Now, Toby (who we named for the morning) has two important things going for him.  Yes, that's right.  Two.  Anna noticed right away.
Across the field she noticed.  And ran after him up the hill out of sight. Much to her frantic guardians' dismay.  They (the dogs, not the guardians) ran till they collapsed, then rested, and ran some more.  He's a dog from a home up the road, we learned, but he was all Anna's while she was there.  He did suggest to her more than once that their relationship could go to a new level if she'd just relax.  If you know Anna, you know the answer was NO.  That's NO.  So they ran some more.

He followed the car as we drove away.  She hung her head out the window. We felt pretty pathetic.  He's over it, I'm sure, and other campers have come and gone he plays with.  A great pup!

It was a beautiful campground and we wish we'd had more time but not if we wanted to get to our dear Alabama "cousin" Rhonda and her family.

So goodbye, eastern Alabama, we're heading for Rhonda's............
