So, isn’t time a funny thing.
When we’re young, time drags........we’re never quite old enough
to do the things we long for, the independence, the adventure,
not having to live with our folks anymore.
Childhood and youth chafe us with
restrictions and lack of privilege. So we think, eh?
And suddenly, you become 63. Well, that’s what seems to have happened to me.
Wait a minute. Time is no longer dragging......it’s racing.
My tush is no longer racing, now it’s dragging. A bit. Not a lot, just enough to notice.
For all the years I couldn’t wait to get out of my parents’ home, now I would give my eye teeth to sit with them again, ask a million questions I didn’t know to ask when I was young, tell them how I appreciate it all now that I understand. A little.
OK, I’ve been a slow learner...............
Having said these profound things, I’ll admit it all started because I realized it’s been six months since I left O’Connor, and six weeks since we left California. And six weeks till we're home.
Here we are in Connecticut, after our week in Vermont among the autumn leaves.
The family gathers for The Wedding. Wait, wasn’t Sarah just born? How can that little pumpkin be getting married? That ‘time’ thing again.
So, just for the heck of it, I’m posting some photos of the recent months in our lives, Leslie and I, gardens and bonsai and reflections overall of a heck of a good life these six months.
